Throughout the year, most athletes train continuously to increase their stamina and strength. Volleyballs player are no different that the rest, in fact volleyball players are famous because they have the highest level of vigor and most stringent and dedicated training programs. Most of their training includes powerful periodized strength training basics.
Volleyball as a sport is known to push the players to the farthest;
that’s where the training kicks in. Volleyball players have to perform energy consuming vertical jumps, power hits and slams and extremely intensive serves. Strength training in volleyball requires the facts of perodization to be known to the players. Periodization is a training method in which one of more variables, like exercise, frequency of lifts, and intensity of lifts and method of lifting, within your training program on a consistent and ordinary basis.
The periodized strength training for Volleyball players is broken down into four basic segments; which are conveniently synchronized with the four seasons in a year. Each period or season indicates a change in one or more variables of the training. Usually the training is broken into segments know as off-season, in-season, pre-season and the post-season. Regardless of the periods some exercises remain constant throughout the training.
